Recovery: One Day At A Time

It starts with one day.

Can you handle one day?

Okay. Maybe not.

But can you handle an hour?

Thirty minutes?

Five minutes?

You can do that, right?

Now, just keep doing that over and over again…even when you think you can’t. Even when you think you are going to scratch your eyeballs out. Even when you think you are going to scratch someone else’s eyeballs out.

Look at you! You just did it.

Now, do it again.

Yes, I know it sucks. I know its scary and Jesus knows that it’s painful.

It will pass.

Breath. Are you breathing? You’re not breathing. Take a deep breath.

Okay. Better?

Guess what? It’s been another few minutes!

You got this.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but you have to trust me.

Go for a walk. Make cookies. Dance. For God sakes, call someone. Go to a meeting. Go to a meeting. Go to a meeting. Get support from people who have been EXACTLY where you are right now.

They’re waiting for you.

Now, go!
